  1. Responsibilities
  2. Allowances and controls
  3. A person moves out

01 / Everyday use

Responsibilities

List the account holder, user, minimum term and device obligation for every line. A household account can contain products taken out at different times with different features. Do not assume the same roaming allowance or controls apply to all.

Use supported account permissions where available. Sharing a master password makes it harder to distinguish authorised actions and can expose unrelated services.

02 / Everyday use

Allowances and controls

Compare real usage by person. Review how spending limits treat additional services, roaming and premium activity. A data cap should not be mistaken for a universal spending block.

Talk through travel settings with the person using the handset. A second SIM or hotspot can change the usage pattern even when the monthly plan itself stays the same.

03 / Everyday use

A person moves out

Ask the provider how ownership changes work and what happens to a device balance. Passing over the physical phone does not necessarily transfer contractual responsibility.

Update account recovery information and remove obsolete access carefully. Preserve the number through the correct process if the user is moving to an independent account.
