The fixed service
Confirm address eligibility, installation, equipment and the minimum term. A service available nearby is not necessarily available at the specific property. Keep router-return and cancellation requirements with the agreement.
Poor Wi-Fi in one room may not be a fault with the external connection. Compare a suitable wired test or a test near the router where possible before drawing a conclusion.
02 / Everyday use
The mobile alternative
Test the intended router or hotspot in the location and at the time it will be used. Consider upload stability, work applications and the local link to connected devices. A phone’s reception outdoors is only a clue.
Check permitted use for the SIM product and what equipment is included. Do not assume a phone allowance establishes a guaranteed home service.
03 / Everyday use
A useful backup
Simulate the primary service being unavailable and perform the essential tasks. Consider electricity dependence and whether both services rely on the same underlying mobile network. A second brand does not necessarily provide an independent radio path.
Keep the backup manageable and tested. A dormant SIM with forgotten credentials or an expired allowance is not dependable merely because it is stored in a drawer.
