01 / Decisions
Build a year view
From the actual agreement, record the basic subscription, device payments, optional subscriptions and scheduled changes across the coming year. Some commitments extend beyond a year, so keep the minimum-term end date visible too.
An annual comparison should include changes within the period rather than multiplying a first-month headline by twelve. We do not reproduce live tariff prices: the provider must confirm the quotation and eligibility for the selected product.
02 / Decisions
Understand increases
Ofcom’s rules for new agreements from 17 January 2025 prohibit inflation-linked or percentage-based core subscription rises in those contracts; specified changes must be clear in pounds and pence with their timing explained. Earlier agreements may still contain different terms. This does not prohibit every increase.
If a change is disputed, identify the contractual wording and the line item to which it was applied. A roaming charge is not the same thing as a rise in basic airtime. Keep the order summary and the notice.
03 / Decisions
Understand reductions
A lower bill may result from ending a device payment, removing an extra, changing allowance or receiving a one-off credit. Establish whether the reduction repeats before assuming a new regular amount.
An unused allowance can justify reviewing needs, but changing it may affect commitment or benefits. Ask when a change becomes effective and request the revised terms.
