  1. Prepare access
  2. Install and verify
  3. Two lines, two responsibilities

01 / Everyday use

Prepare access

Confirm the exact handset and plan are supported. Keep the account email, installation instructions and a working internet connection available. Transfer authenticator access using the relevant app’s own process.

An eSIM is a credential format, not a larger allowance or a special reception booster. It does not automatically include overseas data. A smartwatch or tablet can require a different supported product.

02 / Everyday use

Install and verify

Follow the official provider instructions on the intended device. Keep the old device available until incoming calls, outgoing texts and mobile data work. If a number transfer is involved, recognise that it may complete separately from installation.

When an error occurs, record it and use the provider’s recovery route. Some profiles or activation codes cannot simply be reused indefinitely. Repeated deletion can remove a working recovery option.

03 / Everyday use

Two lines, two responsibilities

Name the lines clearly and choose defaults for voice and data. Review automatic data fallback before travelling. A data-only travel profile can provide internet while the UK line remains responsible for messages and ordinary calls.

Before erasing or selling the old phone, confirm that essential accounts can be reached from the new device. Removing a profile or deleting an app does not cancel the underlying service agreement.
