01 / The iD Mobile notes

Retailer and network

iD Mobile’s official coverage page identifies the Three network. Your iD agreement still determines retail allowances and account support. Three’s own retail travel or plan features should not be assumed to apply unchanged.

Begin by naming the product: phone package, SIM-only or a prepaid option if available for your needs. Obtain its own terms before comparing it with another brand. A shared radio network is only one part of the consumer experience.

Phone payments and commitment

Read the complete payment schedule and minimum term for a handset arrangement. Ask whether airtime and device obligations end together and what a transfer out would leave outstanding. A phone presented alongside a plan is not necessarily governed by a single simple obligation.

For a handset you already own, test the supported calling and data features first. Check software support and storage before diagnosing every problem as a network fault. A device that works on home Wi-Fi may still be unsuitable for the intended mobile service.

03 / The iD Mobile notes

A specific eSIM restriction

iD’s eSIM page states that its eSIMs are for mobile use and are not currently compatible with tablets or wearables. It describes an emailed QR-code process and replacement requests through the iD app or online account. Check the current page before proceeding.

That distinction matters if the purpose is to connect a watch independently or use a tablet away from a phone. General eSIM support in a device’s specifications does not override a provider’s product restriction. Do not buy a product on the assumption that all digital SIMs are interchangeable.

Activation and a number transfer

Keep the activation instructions and order confirmation. Install the profile on the intended device with reliable internet available. Complete a call, a text and a data check before relying on the line for important access.

When porting, keep the old service available until the process is arranged. A transfer code should go only to the receiving provider. If routing behaves inconsistently after completion, collect examples from more than one originating network for the support investigation.

05 / The iD Mobile notes

Roaming, data and router expectations

Read iD’s current travel rules for the destination and plan, including the fair-use allowance. Do not substitute Three’s Go Roam description. Check whether add-ons apply to the intended country and what triggers any additional charge.

For unlimited data, separate domestic quantity from speed, acceptable-use and travel terms. Router or broadband use needs its own product check. The eSIM restriction on connected devices makes it especially important not to infer tablet or wearable support from a phone plan.

06 / The iD Mobile notes

Bills, glitches and fit

Use the official iD app for the relevant line and preserve statements before leaving. A changed bill needs an itemised explanation. For faults, distinguish installation errors, an incomplete port, calling compatibility and poor reception; each needs a different response.

iD may be relevant where a documented phone or SIM arrangement suits the reader and local testing is satisfactory. It needs reconsideration when the intended connected device falls outside the product’s scope, or when the comparison assumes that every Three retail feature will be inherited.
